Laos is one of the quieter countries in South East Asia. It's remained in the shadow of it's neighbours, leaving it unspoiled and lovely. Luang Prabang is likely THE most relaxed city in Asia. It's hard not to become quickly enthralled with it's colonial charm and friendly people. The food doesn't quite match Thailand or Vietnam, but the great breads, variety of cheese and plethora of unique handicrafts make up for it.
