Montenegro is a beautiful country tucked away in the Balkans. It receives fewer visitors than it's Croatian neighbour, allowing for more of a relaxing, off-the-beaten-path feeling. The main tourist city of Kotor is like a smaller version of Dubrovnik (try to visit on a non-cruise ship day), but the location is far more spectacular. It's perched at the end of a large bay, tucked beneath the mountains.

Outside of Kotor there's a plethora of sights and activities to keep anyone entertained. From the sun-soaked coastal city of Budva, Lake Skadar's horseshoe bend, Mt Lovcen's views over the Bay of Kotor and Durmitor National Park (to name a few). Travel is relatively inexpensive, but a wealth of experiences await.
