Guyana isn't a country that may people think of when traveling at all, let alone with kids! However, if you're looking for something that still feels undiscovered, you should consider family travel in Guyana.
Georgetown has a few things to keep the kids entertained, but it isn't my favourite city and isn't somewhere I'd linger for more than a day or two. The rest of the country is where the real magic lies!
Deep in the interior you'll find dense primary rainforest, wild savannahs and beautiful mountain ranges with waterfalls. There's so much adventuring and wide open spaces it's perfect for kids! Travel is rustic but can still be relatively comfortable. However, expect minimal food options so ensure you pack some snacks or prep your kids to "get what they get and not get upset"!
