We try to wild camp as much as possible on the roa

We try to wild camp as much as possible on the road (when it’s legal/acceptable, of course!). We’d rather spend the $$ on delicious food versus paying for a campsite!

Sometimes this means we sleep in pretty incredible spots. And sometimes it means we’re parked at the edge of a municipal parking lot at a sports complex 😂

It’s not all great views and beautiful sunsets!

Sometimes it feels like we’re not really ‘over

Sometimes it feels like we’re not really ‘overlanding’ in Europe…more like ‘road tripping’!

And at the end of the day, does it really matter?

Sometimes we drive on highways, sometimes we take the slow road and sometimes we find a dirt track.

Sometimes we sleep in campgrounds, or hotels, or wild spots in the woods.

All that matters is that we love what we’re doing and that we’re doing it together.

What do you think of our new set up?

Our original design worked…but we had boxes to store while driving and seat backs to store while parked.

Plus, it was time consuming and Randy was the only one who was any good at removing the seat backs!

So…we swapped the old seats for new, folding, second row Exmoor Trim Puma seats. And amazingly…they fit our setup perfectly! Randy didn’t even have to adjust the seat brackets!

Our new set up is SO fast!! And easy!! It’s a game changer for us 😍

We’re SO grateful to @roberto_lr88 for the help, hospitality and workshop (and receiving & storing our new seats for the past months!). We couldn’t have gone this without our incredible Defender family 🥰

We were SO excited to find another Canadian Defender here in Europe!

Randy’s been in touch with Jacques for many, many months, talking him through everything from shipping to insurance logistics. So it was fantastic to actually cross paths!

This is only the third Canadian vehicle we’ve seen during our almost 12mo (combined) travels in Europe. It doesn’t ever lose its excitement!!
