Ait Benhaddou We spent the morning wandering the Ait Benhaddou We spent the morning wandering the UNESCO site of Ait Benhaddou, also known as Yunkai from Game of Thrones! The town looks incredibly cool and is well preserved in places (and it appears to be undergoing restoration in other places), but all we saw within it was souvenir shops stuffed to the gills with all the same things. It made me wonder who buys this stuff, and how much of it they manage to sell. I completely understand the desire to earn an income by catering to the tourists. I just donโ€™t understand why all the shops are the same and canโ€™t fathom that enough people buy things to make the shops sustainable. We drove out of our way to see it and Iโ€™m still undecided as to whether it was worth it or not. Luckily, the drive was interesting so it wasnโ€™t solely about the destination! #overlandafrica #overlandlife #moroccotrip #aitbenhaddou #overlandingfamily
