Last balloon dump from Cappadocia. This place is Last balloon dump from Cappadocia. This place is magical. Words can’t describe it and photos don’t do it justice. It simply must be experienced. We spent one last night above Love Valley (kid’s choice!). Our neighbours were a local family who brought their tent up for the night. They force fed us dinner and then came over for coffee on the morning to watch the balloons. They spoke no English, and we speak no Turkish (aside from Teşuker ederim) but Google Translate is an amazing thing! While drinking my coffee and watching one balloon come up and over the ledge beside us, the pilot said something about coffee and I told him he was welcome to join us. Thinking nothing of it. He floated off and landed not too far from us. About 45min later, he showed up with his wife when she came to pick him up! We enjoyed a cup of coffee together and asked some questions about the balloon pilot training and lifestyle. And he asked about our travels and lifestyle. It was a lovely little exchange and we feel so grateful for these small interactions. The people we’ve encountered in Türkiye have been so incredibly friendly and kind. We couldn’t visit Cappadocia and not go on a hot a We couldn’t visit Cappadocia and not go on a hot air balloon ride! Plus, given how expensive everything else seems to be (we paid $75CAD for 4 coffees and 2 pastries 🤯), the balloon ride was pretty reasonable! We paid €85 per person and booked through our hotel. But we saw it advertised in town for as low as €50 per person. So I guess our hotel made a bit of money off us 😂 The landscape is so cool, it’s definitely worth getting a Birds Eye view from the balloon! #cappadocia #türki̇ye #travelturkey #hotairballoon #travelmemories

There’s more to Cappadocia than the balloons 🎈 W There’s more to Cappadocia than the balloons 🎈 We had such a fun hike from Uchisar Castle to Göreme through Pigeon Valley. It wasn’t well signed and it involved a bit of scrambling, some slippery spots and a few wrong turns 😂 But the scenery was spectacular and it was an absolute blast! And we ended at the Weasley’s Burrow (at least that’s what it looked like!) We took a taxi to Uchisar to start, explored the castle (which is a super cool cave castle), and then started walking in what we hoped was the right direction to get to the trail. Thank goodness for satellite images in Google Maps. It kept us going in more or less the right direction most of the time. I wondered if the lack of signage is to encourage people to hire a guide? Either way, we had plenty of water and nowhere to be, and the “figuring it out as we go” was part of the adventure! 10/10 recommend (with grippy shoes and good knees😂) #familyadventures #familyhike #türki̇ye #cappadocia #travelwithkids
