Being from a large country, Europe always amazes me. There’s so many different food, cultures and languages packed into such a small space. The ease of low-cost carriers and a vast rail network makes getting around Europe easy. You could eat breakfast, lunch and dinner all in different countries if you really wanted. Family travel in Europe is low stress, full of child-friendly restaurants and activities, and can be altered to fit almost any budget.

Randy and my first big trip together was a 2 month backpacking tour of Europe. We figured it was our “last big hurrah” before we had kids…boy were we wrong!! We really found our travel groove as a couple on that trip and it’s made all our travels since much easier. There was one awful day in Budapest where we wandered around town together barely talking, that forced us to figure out our different travel styles and mesh them together. It’s been relatively smooth sailing ever since!

France is one of our favourite countries in Europe, and we’ve passed that love onto our kids. I don’t know what it is about the Eiffel Tower, but they get SO excited seeing it! On our first trip to Paris (during that epic backpacking tour) Randy and I made a promise to each other that we’d live in Paris one day. We don’t have plans in our immediate future, but one day we’ll make it happen.
